Living Environments
Our home is our sanctuary as well as a place where we center ourselves and a source of our inspiration. The time we spend at home should restore our vitality and creativity and allow us to flourish in a comfortable, peaceful and relaxing space, not just provide shelter. Thus our homes become the direct extension of our intellect, spiritual and physical body and should be a place of harmony and enjoyment.
Mankind has lived within the elements of nature for thousands of years until recently, but now we spend 90% of our time indoors and have come to think of nature as a force that must be divided and concurred rather than as a part of us that we need to reconnect to. We must get back in tune with our natural environment to provide the harmonic balance that we need. One way of doing this is by creating living environments within our living and working structures. This is incorporating the use of natural light, fresh air, plants and even water fixtures such as water walls within our homes and working environments. Studies have been conducted which have proven that productivity, health and overall general welfare have increased substantially in such living environments.
When we create living spaces indoors they need to be like subsets of the outdoor environment. By and large all that is accomplished by taking plants from outdoors and bringing them inside in pots is to create dead zones, as potted plants actually become a negative contribution to an interior space. They cannot sustain themselves as an ecosystem and end up dying. It is not enough just to stick some plants into a foreign interior space as soil is a very complex and living system with billions of various organisms in it. The challenge is to create a living soil that will sustain itself indoors. Living environments are designed to do just that.
A well planned and maintained living environment will provide a healthier and more enjoyable living environment for the occupants. Elements such as natural lighting, good indoor air quality, plants, natural ventilation, and soothing sounds from a waterfall will produce a living and working environment that is not only healthier to live in and environmentally beneficial but also makes people feel good. It is our goal to help create such living environments.
Let us put our experience to work for you to create the ultimate living environment.
